Are You Teaching Others to Fish?
What we mean by asking Are You Teaching Others to Fish is… are you giving others the necessary tools to create wealth and then Pay it
Forward to society?
We recently watched a show called “The Secret Millionaire”. You may have heard of it? If not, it’s on ABC, Sunday at 8:00 pm. Anyway, this particular episode featured Dani Johnson, multi-millionaire entrepreneur, best selling author, speaker, and radio talk show host.
Dani Johnson’s personal story and her amazing journey have touched us in a profound way and we’d like to to share with you a little about her and this phenomenal show that is changing others lives.
Dani was raised on welfare, was pregnant at 17, homeless at 21, and a millionaire by age 23. She started her business out of the trunk of her car and a pay phone booth. She grew her business into the dynasty that it is today and is giving back on so many levels.
She regularly consults, mentors, and coaches people on career advancement, personal achievement, business growth, leadership development, marketing and profit strategies, relationships, time management, wealth attainment and spiritual issues. She is passionate about helping people break through barriers that stop them from experiencing true freedom emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and financially.
Dani and her husband Hans are also the founders of King’s Ransom Foundation, a non-profit charity dedicated to serving people in need worldwide. She and her husband believe strongly in the need for successful people to give back to local communities and charitable organizations. We believe this is important as well. See the list of charities we support by clicking on the following link: Causes
In the episode of “The Secret Millionaire”, Dani goes undercover to volunteer at three different organizations offering not only physical labor, but in the end a substantial amount of money and leadership to help not only sustain these people in the future, but thrive. The organizations were The Love Kitchen, Special Spaces, Inc., and The Joy of Music School.
How does Dani’s story pertain to home based business, you ask?
Well, in order to be successful in your home based business, you have to surround yourself and learn from others with integrity; people who are fully confident and committed to their success and are teaching others to do the same. Dani does just that! She stresses the point of walking the walk, not just talking the talk. A lot of people just talk about helping others and think that writing a check is enough.
It’s important to get out there and physically help! Get your hands dirty! Volunteer at a soup kitchen, help restore a house, clean musical instruments, mentor to teens, give of your time by listening to an elderly person’s story, etc. etc.. Genuinely care and teach them how to help themselves and others. The reward will be great.
Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.
~Chinese Proverb
You need to follow leaders that are giving back to society, who offer value and are true visionaries. This will help you to grow and become the leader you need to be, hence creating a home based business that offers true abundance, both personally and financially.
Here are some words that leaders NEVER say and what you should replace them with:
I can’t–I CAN!
I hope–I KNOW!
I might–I WILL!
I’ll try–I AM!
Someday I’ll–I DID!
Hope you found some value out of this post and that YOU go out there and teach others how to fish!

I agree with Aki — You guys rock… and so does Dani Johnson.
Pregnant at 17, homeless at 21, and a millionaire by age 23 that just goes to show you that no obstacle is bigger than you are. We need to stop thinking about obstacles as problems when they are merely challenges that we can over come.

You guys said it right. I watched that first episode with Dani Johnson, and their were tears in my eyes. I think our country and this world would be in a totally different place, if all of us would remember where we come from, and learn to pay it forward.
Thank you for another great post.

Brian, Great blog! as you said we have to lead by example! I can tell you I’m not in this to be popular, but for the money as everybody! of course a lot of leaders need to become well known to gain trust and sell everything they recommend, but you are right we have to keep in mind that our primary mission should be helping not just by providing an advice but by doing it, I’m cold calling right now! ahaha but I had to comment in your wonderful article!
Thanks!

Hey there B&F!! =)
You guys really hit the spot with this post. I cannot agree and support this more wholeheartedly. I am a huge believer in giving back. At one point or another, everyone hits a speed bump in life, and it takes a huge amount of guts to swallow your pride and accept help. Help can come in the form of food, financial assistance — or simple coaching from fellow Internet Marketers.
When folks achieve success, philanthropy is an important part to a successful business and your online reputation. I have not watched this show, but it is a great one to watch to get inspired to do better things. I hear the echos of my childhood, where a deacon once preached about giving of your time, talent, and treasure. When people share what they are able, even if it stings a bit, the price is worth it when you realize you have brightened someone else’s day. I encourage everyone to step back and reflect on how they can do this for someone each and every day.
Thanks for the share!

Absolutely Brian! That deacon was right in saying that. You reap what you sow. If you give, it shall be given unto you.

Not only is it a wonderful program, but as you showed us, its going beyond a check and talking but getting involved out front.
